The Parks and Recreation Department employees of the Waterford Township need to be investigated through a background check this year. It was estimated that the township will spend as much as $7,600 according to news last March 4, this year. This action was done to follow the township Board of Trustees.
Bidding was recently done on who will conduct the investigation for this township. After the bidding, the National Backgrounds Investigation won the votes of the board. They actually offered the lowest bid which is $17 for background check per employee. Some of the bids run as high as $100 per employee’s background check report.
The recreation supervisor has admitted that they advertised a list of what is required to be checked so that the companies will know what bid they should submit. They believe that by bidding, they can get the lowest possible bid. They also believe that companies of high bid or low bid can offer the same background check quality that they need for their workers. This will help them spend for background checks at a lower cost.
The Waterford Parks and Recreation admitted that they have been paying $20 per head for checking the backgrounds of their employees each year. They have always wanted to maintain the reputation of their company especially for the safety of the youth who are using their amenities. And now, they will be spending less without compromising the same reputation that they have been maintaining. All the staff that the Parks and Recreation employs is made sure to be safe to children.
