With the current recession, many people are turning to internet marketing in order to survive. Many have in fact predicted that there will be more and more competition online in the coming years. There have certainly been more people coming online during the last five or so years, so it looks like now is the time to move if you want to build an online business.

If you’re first starting out with internet marketing, then it may take you a while before you earn any decent money. Many people go for months (even years) before they get their first affiliate cheque or product sale. However, you need to keep in mind that every successful person has failed at least once – and every time you fail it will bring you closer to success. So don’t be afraid to throw stuff out there and just see what happens.

When you start an internet business, you also need to make the decision of whether you want to promote other people’s products as an affiliate, or become a product publisher yourself. Being an affiliate is easier and there is less risk, but you don’t get quite as much leverage. You will find that many top internet marketers have their own product.
