I’ve never, ever had any idea what I’ve wanted to do with my life. I’ve had the notion of being almost everything, and done all kindsof courses. From Geography to Animation and Design, from School to Higher Education. But I’ve never really known. I’d love to write a book, but incomplete, half-written down ideas don’t pay the debts!
Now until summer of 09 if you’d spoke about Search Engine Optimization to me, you would have received a confused stare back. Search Engine Placement, while that made sense to me, wasn’t something I’d ever really given any real thought too, in spite of the fact I use Google on a regular basis (who doesn’t these days). I simply thought that Google just chose whatever it felt best matched what you’d searched for, and that was it. I certainly didn’t realize it was a thing you could have any real power over, something that would be a major part in an Online Marketing strategy or anything. So how I discovered the Search Engine Optimisation Company was quite by accident!
I’d ended up working in a call centre; something I’d always said I’d never do. Lured by the decent wages, and the fact that it was technical support, something I had an interest in. I knew by applying for that job I’d be able to move home and start being independent and all that jazz. Which I did, and that was enjoyable, but the job itself quickly began to wear me down. Putting the headset on was like chaining yourself to thedesk. Not much fun. However, I had managed to more or less trap myself by amassing debts ample enough to mean I couldn’t really afford to take a lesser paid job. So it began, every day, looking through websites and newspapers, searching for something else to do with my life. All the while getting more disheartened, as my weekends were obliterated one by one in a wave of 2:30pm till 11pm shifts.
I’d been at this for about a month or so, and it was another day, and I was again searching the job center website, looking at the same jobs that I was fairly sure had been appearing for the past month… when all of a sudden one of them caught my eye.
