This can be achieved – believe it or not – by using a variety of promotional products.All the commercials and advertising in the world cannot do the trick. What’s really key is getting your name and brand in front of customers as often as possible.

Promotional products come in a variety of forms.From tee shirts to golf balls, engraved silver flasks to personalised ink pens, the products are designed to impress.More importantly, the product has your company’s name written- no, emblazoned-on it.Every time that customer uses that item, they will think about you and/or your company.

The most common way to distribute promotional products is to give them out when a customer appears in person. For instance when you give out your business card, you could also give a pen or maybe a small magnet. Another idea for bigger or more important customers would be to think ahead and get something personalised such as a pen set with their initials engraved on it. Ideally, a product that says ‘thank you for your business’ and also shows your brand/business name.

Another way to send out your promotional product would be to send it with a ‘thank you for your business’ letter.Maybe you could put the customer’s entire sales team in notepads or even binders. Just make sure that the product contains your brand name, and is easy to recognise.

When’s the best time to use promo-products?

Ideally, the first time you meet a cusotmer is the best time to give away a product. Put your company name in as many different places in your building as possible. Play father christmas, give away pens to people you meet! Then, when they go to use it – everyone uses pens – they’ll remember your company.

Another way to use these products is to hand them out to suppliers as they visit you.When you have built rapport with them, you might strike up some discounts.

Why should anyone use promotional products?

The benefits are enormous; giving customers your promotional products helps them associate your business with that particular product line. A token of appreciation shown to a supplier could pay dividends further down the line.

Either way, the benefit is easy to see and the entire idea is centered on advertising, branding and recognition. If you compare the cost of promotional products to larger-scale advertising, it compares much more favourably. Using promotional products makes sense ; although you’ll reach fewer people, those who you to speak to are more important as they are already customers or potential customers.
